SMART DESIGNS AND LEGACY SYSTEM SUSTAINABILITY

Flexible Power Generation, Extend PowerGen System Life Expectancy, Modernizing Energy Systems

When: Tuesday, July 25, 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM AT

Where: Port of Spain Ballroom

Synopsis: Climate change’s impact drives the requirements necessary to ensure energy system modernization and legacy system life expectancy through the development of more sustainable innovations that capitalize on renewable fuels (wind and solar). As upgrade and modernization projects are initiated, what about the investment already made in legacy assets and systems? What can be done to extend the life expectancy of legacy systems by reducing emissions and improving efficiencies? How do we overcome the obstacles of integration with renewable fuels or more use of alternate fuels, to maintain reliability with the supply of energy to the power grids? MSHS’ Smart Design and Legacy System Sustainability Panel will explore the implementation of these technologies in SMART and more advanced control designs with an additional understanding of the journey of the alternate fuels to get to the engine or turbine.
