Governor Control Systems Introduces Mobile Test Stand for Emergency On‐Site Governor Service |
GCS introduces a state-of-the-art designed Mobile Governor Test Stand to facilitate on-board emergency governor/actuator troubleshooting, calibration, and service. Constructed to be easily transported, this lightweight modular design fits into two (2) small cases for airline check-in. Equipped with the mobile test stand and spare parts, a factory-trained GCS technician will arrive on-board to verify governor operation and functionality per equipment specification. The GCS Mobile Governor Test Stand adapts to most Woodard, Heinzmann - Regulateurs Europa, and Zexel - Diesel Kiki governors and actuators. The unit may be powered from a variety of industry outlet:220 vac, single-phase, 60 Hz. GCS achieved certification following in-depth assessments of all aspects of its business by LRQA. Opening on November 1, 2011, GCS chose the location of Norfolk, Virginia, to offer customers within the Mid-Atlantic region a conveniently located governor service and repair facility, keeping equipment operating at peak performance while minimizing downtime. The GCS Mid-Atlantic service and repair facility offers local Woodward governor repairs and maintenance and is supported by GCS extensive Woodward inventory. GCS is the Woodward Authorized Distributor for Virginia and the surrounding regions, bringing state-of-the-art Woodward test equipment and factory trained governor specialists to Norfolk. |

GCS has added KRAL Fuel Consumption Measurement (FCM) systems to their line of industry-leading products. KRAL brings marine and power plant customers´ real-time fuel consumption data to optimize engine speed and fuel usage. Positive displacement meters‚ KRAL flowmeters provide precise measurement in harsh operating conditions over a wide range of engine loads and speeds. GCS Technicians are factory trained to specify‚ install and commission new KRAL FCM systems‚ in addition to ongoing trouble-shooting‚ maintenance and support for the life of the system. |

Turbo Celebrates Test-Approval of Napier NA297 Retrofit |

MSHS Turbo Division announced the first retrofit of its kind on CAT 3612 engines. The engine‚ originally fitted with antiquated ABB’s‚ was retrofitted with the newer Napier “7” series turbocharger. Benefits include; improved performance‚ less fuel consumption and increased longevity of engine components. American Commercial Lines‚ ACL‚ owner and operator of the M/V “Elizabeth Dewey” is satisfied with results and has forecasted additional retrofits to the main engine. |
